The Control Room
Centered around a Mackie D8B 72 channel console/DAW control surface and preamps by Avalon, UA and AMR, the majority of recording is done through either a Digi 192 or apogee conversion to a ProTools HD2 accel system on a dual processor Apple G5. Newly renovated, the control room features a 5.1/stereo mixing environment with JBL 4328 / 4312sp monitors.
We can mix to Hard Disc for highest resolutions, Sony CD burner, Tascam DAT or MiniDisc, analog mixing to 1/4" tape with Dolby SR noise reduction is also available. A compact and specifically designed studio space, Lunazen's floor plan has five separate recording spaces allowing for a band to play together with visibility between rooms while not compromising the isolation of each performer. If you like the sound of your voice in the bathroom, we can record it - or if you like the sound of your guitar in the big lobby (that's really not that big) we can record that too. In fact every space in the studio is wired for recording and cue monitoring. We have even wired the large 16' x 25' room that overlooks the pool and the view. The drum kit is available, as is access to a number of in house guitars, basses, piano, keyboards and virtual or soft synthesizers. Lunazen provides an excellent tracking, overdubbing and mixing space. With our lock to picture capability, Lunazen is also well suited for film and video scoring.
